![]() Way back in the early Cinnamon days, I feared it was just going to get more and more bloated. Yeah, although I'm sure Cinnamon will be heavier, I doubt that it's enough to be a real problem on anything but really ancient hardware. ![]() If and when you try Cinnamon, I'd be curious to know how much more memory it uses than Xfce, and whether you find it slower to load or less responsive. On Mint the Xfce desktop looks similar to the others (see below). I'm starting to get an itch to try Manjaro/Cinnamon and think I'll have to scratch it when my kids go back to school in a couple of weeks ![]() I've been really happy with Xfce but it does seem that Cinnamon just keeps getting better and better. I don't have much hardware, but fingerprint-gui did not work on my HP Envy fingerprint scanner (could not initially input, scan too fast). Yes, it would be convenient to get the newest versions of Darktable and RawTherapee without setting the PPA. And in some cases newer versions of apps too. The other was better support for new hardware since Manjaro generally has later kernels and drivers. I think Mint is a terrific distro but rolling updates is one of the factors that led me to Manjaro.
